Woods & Finishes
At Nicholls Joinery we endeavour to ensure that all the timber we use is supplied by companies that sign up to the Timber Trade Federation Responsible Purchasing Policy (RPP). Certified timbers are sourced from responsibly managed forests that can produce timber indefinitely. This policy ensures that the timber supply base can be maintained for the future and helps to guarantee timber for future generations.
The majority of our hardwood products are manufactured from Sapele Hardwood. This is a durable timber, dark reddish brown in colour. The timber is good for a paint finish or it can be stained.
In addition to Sapele we can supply any other hardwood, eg European Oak, American White Oak, Beech, Mahogany and Iroko or any softwood that is required, usually within three days of order.
We normally deliver all products with a brush, primed white finish. We can however spray any colour or apply clear varnish, these two finishes are for internal use only.
